Interim budget and tax slabs 2009-20010 highlights

This is the election year and the acting Minister of finance Mr. Pranabh Mukharjee has presented the Interim Budget. This budget will cover the period till 22 May 2009 when a new government is formed. It will be the responsibility of the new government for formulating policy for the remainder of the financial year.

As was expected, there are no changes for the tax structures or tax slabs.
Rural areas to get more boost in terms of an additional 301 billion rupees for job schemes and 120.7 billion rupees for health spending
Projections for GDP growth of 7.1 per cent
